As we move toward exciting initiatives that will elevate VCS, let’s take a look back on the first two years of this important multi-year fundraising effort.
The Legacy Campaign launched in 2019, our milestone 70th year of providing an innovative, Christ-centered education. The theme “celebrating” honored the incredible history of the school and its impact on generations of students, teachers, and community members. From a landmark community celebration to the initiation of numerous campaign projects, Year 1 launched us into an enormously challenging second year.
As the 2019-2020 school year began to wind down, the pandemic hit. We pivoted, adapted, and advocated. Our community was resilient, and as we entered Year 2, the theme of “advancing” took on a whole new meaning. We took ground together. We rallied, arm-in-arm, to support our students and teachers, and through it all, we thrived as a community. Through the CARE Relief Fund, we aided families hit hard by the pandemic and created online and outdoor learning opportunities that ensured students wouldn’t have to overcome a gap in their education.
Now we stand at the forefront of an exciting new chapter in the legacy of Village Christian School. Together, we will “elevate” the educational experience for generations of Crusaders, equipping them in new and exciting ways.
